Understanding Kennel Club Endorsements
At CameronCavs, we place the following endorsements on all our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies:
- "Not Eligible for the Issue of an Export Pedigree"
- "Progeny Not Eligible for Registration"
Pregnancy & Puppy Updates
Once a pregnancy is confirmed via ultrasound, we’ll share the exciting news with you, along with the expected delivery date. After the puppies arrive, we’ll keep you updated with weekly photos or videos and milestone updates, so you can follow the litter’s progress every step of the way!
Puppy Development & Preparation
From birth to 8 weeks, your puppy undergoes rapid growth and key developmental milestones.
- Weeks 0–2: Gaining weight, eyes and ears begin to open.
- Weeks 3–4: Starting to eat semi-solid food, playing, barking, and noticing sounds. Milk teeth appear.
- Weeks 5–6: Transitioning to solid food, playing with siblings, and becoming more aware of surroundings.
- Weeks 7–8: Fully weaned and ready for their first vet check.
The 5-Week Puppy Visit
At 5 weeks, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to visit your puppy, bring them a blanket & a toy, spend time playing with them, and meet their mum, along with the rest of the CameronCavs family and us!
During your visit, you will:
- View health certificates and Kennel Club documents.
- Sign the contract for your puppy.
- Finalise and confirm your puppy’s collection date.
This visit is a special moment to bond with your puppy and prepare for their upcoming homecoming!
Note: Copies of the certificates and contract will be provided in advance of the 5-week visit for your review.
The 8-Week Vet Check, Vaccinations & Microchip
At 8 weeks, your puppy will have their first vet visit at Vets4Pets Livingston, where they’ll receive:
- First set of vaccinations
- Microchip implantation
- Comprehensive health check
The vet will examine their eyes, ears, teeth, heart, joints, weight, and (for males) testes, as well as check for potential issues like an umbilical hernia. A detailed puppy health report will be provided with all findings.
This milestone ensures your puppy is healthy and ready for the exciting journey to their forever home!
Puppy Collection Day
The big day is finally here! After receiving full approval from our vet, your puppy will be ready to join their forever home!
When you collect your puppy, you’ll also receive a puppy pack containing everything you need to help them settle in:
- Documentation, including their health certificates, Kennel Club documents (if applicable), and signed contract.
- The blanket and toy you brought at the 5-week visit, carrying familiar scents to comfort your puppy.
- A puppy starter kit with essentials like puppy pads, poop bags, toys, and food to support their early days with you.
- The detailed puppy report from CameronCavs.
Collection day is a special moment to celebrate as you take the next step in welcoming your newest family member home!
