Books
We recommend several books to our potential puppy owners to help prepare for bringing home a new pup and for training. Even if you’ve owned dogs before, training methods are continually evolving and improving, making it worth exploring the latest approaches.
Among the favourites Steve Mann offers an excellent range of books:

- A training book suitable for 8-12 year olds, perfect for younger family members eager to get involved in training.
- A book to cover adult dogs, rescues and rehoming for those rehoming an adult dog, covering everything from rescues to settling them into their new home.

Beds
We’ve tested all of these bed types and found that both Cavaliers and Cavapoos absolutely adore doughnut beds! Not only are they cosy and supportive, but they’re also easy to clean—most can be popped into the washing machine (size permitting).
If you’re using Vet bed in a crate or as a bedding option, we recommend skipping fabric conditioner when washing. Conditioner can impact the Vet bed’s ability to wick moisture away from your puppy effectively.

Crates & Playpens
Crate Training
All our puppies are ‘open door’ crate trained, meaning the crate door is open and is used as a cosy and secure space where your puppy can feel safe and comfortable.
Recommended crate types:

- Canvas crates – Lightweight and portable, great for travel.
Playpen Setup
We also recommend using a playpen in combination with a crate. Placing the crate inside the playpen creates a safe and controlled environment for your puppy during alone time or sleep, giving them a designated space to rest and play.
